Promoting British Values
The Government's 'Prevent Strategy' states that schools should promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
We firmly believe that such values are embedded within the ethos of our school, but that we also need to be proactive in seeking additional opportunities to ensure that our children are suitably prepared for life in modern Britain.
The following document is a summary of some of the ways in which we aim to develop these values in our children, either through the curriculum or the wider life of the school. It was written in consultation with all classroom staff and subsequently reviewed with school governors.
