Power maths work

For a typical maths lesson, we explore a problem together, gaining a skill in the process. Children then use this skill to solve problems with the support a teacher and partner, before they try solving problems independently. Above is a child's workbook, where they have independently worked through simplifying fractions.

Prime factors investigation

In another lesson, we looked at prime factors. For every number, you can multiply prime numbers together to find that number. In the example above, the child found that 144 is 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 2 which is the same as 2^4 * 3^2.
