Uniform Information
We believe our school uniform gives the children a feeling of belonging to the school; it looks smart and is practical too. Please ensure that your child's name is clearly visible on all items of clothing. Our uniform consists of the following:
- Grey/black skirt or pinafore dress
- Grey/black trousers
- White shirt or white/green polo shirt
- Green sweatshirt or cardigan
- Smart black school shoes (plain black trainer style is acceptable)
- Green gingham dress
Shoes should always have a strap or laces to secure them. In the summer, well-fitted sandals may be worn and children should bring a plain baseball cap or sun hat with them into school. School baseball caps are available from Big Fish.
We also have clear expectations around PE kits as follows:
- Plain white t-shirt
- Plain black shorts (no cycling shorts please) or plain black jogging bottoms in cooler weather
- Plimsolls or plain trainers (no bright colours please)
- A school jumper or hoodie should be worn during cooler weather - hoodies are available from our uniform provided as outlined below.
Children in Years 1-6 should come to school in their PE kit on PE days (teachers will advise on when these are). Children in our Reception class should bring their PE kit to school in a clearly labelled bag as getting dressed and developing independence is part of the Early Years curriculum.
When children attend Forest School sessions, we expect them to wear the PE kit as outlined above, making sure that they wear items that cover their arms and legs. A sturdier pair of trainers or wellies should also be worn.
Our uniform does not consist of the following:
- Trainers of any kind, besides those mentioned above.
- Tracksuits
- Football or sports shirts
- Neck scarves or ‘snoods’
- Novelty headbands
We strongly discourage the wearing of jewellery. If a child has pierced ears, please ensure that plain studs only are worn at school. Other types of earrings can be dangerous at playtimes and during PE. Children will be required to remove all jewellery before PE. If they cannot do this themselves, please ensure they do not wear jewellery on PE days. The wearing of a simple watch (no smart watches please) is encouraged as it helps children to practise telling the time.
You can order all of our uniform from Big Fish - see the link below. The school username is Sutton Bonington and the password is OWLS.
