Online Safety
In today's digital age, it is important that children understand how to stay safe and responsible while using technology. With so much information available at our fingertips, it's crucial that children learn about online safety from an early age. Our goal is to provide valuable resources and information here to help you support your child to navigate the online world safely, as well as to empower them to make informed decisions.
At Sutton Bonington, we teach our youngest children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to be SAFE when online:
S - Speak to somebody if you need help
A - Ask an adult before going online
F - Friends are real people we know
E - Enjoy, play, have fun and stay safe
With our older children in Year 3 to 6, we encourage the children to be SMART when online:
S - Share responsibly
M - Manage your privacy
A - Ask for help
R - Respect others
T - Think critically and trust your instinct
The documents below will provide you with additional sources of information regarding how you can keep your child safe online - please do take a look. Internet Matters and the NSPCC also offer further advice for parents and carers online. You can find the links at the bottom of this page.
