The National Curriculum at Sutton Bonington

As a maintained school, Sutton Bonington Primary School follows the National Curriculum in Key Stages 1 and 2.

This includes teaching the following subjects throughout the school:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Science
  • Computing
  • Physical Education
  • History
  • Geography
  • Music
  • Art
  • Design Technology
  • Modern Foreign Languages (KS2 only)

It is also statutory that schools will teach Religious Education according to local guidelines and we also ensure SMSC (Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural) development for our pupils - this includes reference to Modern British Values and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education). SMSC is delivered throughout all we do including in assemblies, PSHE lessons and through our work on our Sutton Bonington values.
